Orquestra Energia is a pedagogical project aimed at the inclusion, within school environment, of young people in a vulnerable situation of a social or educational order. It is inspired in the Venezuelian model of Youth Orchestras and works for the integration of youth within school context.
Orquestra Energia is a project managed by the Amarante Cultural Center, currently has 63 elements and it’s singular teaching method opts by an imitative approach. The orchestra regularly performs both inside and outside its country, participates in similar projects in other cities and orgazines intensive apprenticeship programs for its constituents.
There are currently 3 “orquestras energia”, of Amarante, Mirandela and Murça, all of them supported by the EDP Foundation and under the pedagogical advice from Porto’s Casa da Música.
